WOMAN AND MASS MEDIA

Woman’s is exploited in mass media since the time of black and white cinema indeed as the woman body is used as sexual attraction to increase the number of audience using the media. Until today, womans are still been exploited by the media industry include Cinemas, Radio, Television, Print Media, Internet and so on. Recently, we have some government bodies, non-governmental organizations (NGO) and publics fighting against the issue which still continues from traditional to new media eras. We also can find some feminist and advocetes criticizing the exploitation of woman in mass media.

Media as a communication tool needs to create awareness against woman abuse and exploitation in daily life and protects them. However, mass media since its invention creates more damages to the gender rather than helping its growth. The role of media in the development of women and enhancement of their status in the society is very depressing. All mass media are being blamed for this. Mass media are the most powerful tool of social influence but they have not been effective in portraying women in meaningful, respectable and positive manner. Media has to stop show females characters as weak and always need a man to save them which is a man’s responsible to save their woman all the time from danger.

The media and the users of media should respect woman as our mother, grandmother, siblings, friends, lover and relations while not discriminate them as a sexual object, weak gender and trouble for mans. We often watch sexy female characters in films and dramas even advertisement used to portrait feminism. The films such as Salt and Sucker Punch uses females characters in a very different pattern but still damages the good values of womens. On the other hand, almost all the Hindi and Tamil films will be having duet songs where the camera lens will be focusing the sexual organs of the heroine and running scene where they will focus the shaking under-neck parts of female. Moreover, female characters are used in male products advertisement,

In a nutshell, mass media should change their perception towards females as tool of exploitation and must play their role towards creating good values among the users and as information transferring and sharing device. Finally, media must stop exploiting woman, until that, we as society and individual should be responsible to create awareness among mass media and its users.

Many people are still questioning how could students raise these much of money to helps patients which has no bond with them. yes its not a easy work for students to raise funds as they need to manage their studies as well. the volunteers need to sacrifice their 3 week semester break to raise fund for the project. they need to find sponsors which is businessman and politicians. on the another hand, they also will sell the concert tickets to public.

The work still not came to end,  they still to do meetings to make decisions on how to organise the concert since the are organisers plus performers. since its a charity show, they can't spend too much on program and artist. soon they have to start practice for the performances a way of thanking the public which supports their afford by buying the tickets. in meantime, they have to find local artist or local talents which can perform in the show with minimal cost of free of charge.

The performances usually includes singing, dancing, act/sketch, mimicry, rap and moreover to show their talents. they need to sacrifice a lot of time and affords to make the concert to be succeed. finally, when the day came, they will ROCK THE STAGE infront of 1000 to 5000 spectators includes their family members and friends which in proud of them.
